Back Glass frequently asked questions
Can I just peel the old back glass off?
Not on Pro models, where it is bonded to the frame. It has to be broken out and the frame cleared of every fragment and all old adhesive — a laser separator makes this manageable, otherwise expect heat, cutting wire and a long session.
Will the phone still be water resistant?
Treat any opened phone as no longer sealed to its factory rating. Fresh adhesive all the way round restores a good physical seal, but the original certification does not carry over.
