Can I fit this straight onto a phone?

No. This is a refurbishment part — it bonds onto a display panel with optically clear adhesive under a laminating machine, and the rebuilt assembly then goes into the phone. If you want a screen you can simply fit, you need a complete assembly.

What equipment do I need?

A laminating machine and a bubble remover, plus a separator to get the old glass off. Glass change is an equipment-dependent process — without the lamination gear the result traps bubbles and dust.

Why refurbish rather than buy a new screen?

Because the panel is the expensive part and it is usually undamaged. Replacing only the glass keeps the original panel’s colour and brightness at a fraction of the cost of a new assembly.
