The everyday tools a repair bench reaches for constantly — blades and glue-removal knives, cleaning brushes, jumper and flying wire, screen clamps, magnetic pads and organisers. Individually small purchases; collectively they decide how fast and how cleanly a bench works.
Treat blades as consumables and change them early. A dulled blade needs pressure, and pressure is what skids into a flex cable or lifts a pad — the blade costs a fraction of the damage. Keep a rough pair of tweezers for prying and a fine pair for placing components, so the fine tips stay fine.
As soon as it needs pressure to cut. A blade that has to be pushed will skid, and on a logic board it skids into whatever is next to the chip. Blades are cheap; lifted pads are not.
Because levering with fine tips splays them permanently, and splayed tips will not pick up small components. A cheap workhorse pair takes the abuse so the precision pair stays precise.
